Churdhar Trek

Description : At 3650m height Churdhar is the highest peak in the lower Himalaya. For those looking for a winter trek which is relatively easy if the weather conditions are favourable, Churdhar is an excellent option. Starting fom Nauradhar you need to put one camp en-route at Tisri before doing the climb to the top. At you reach Tisri views towards the North open up and the Pine trees which give you company till this point start thinning out. The final climb if done in fair weather is not very challenging and at the summit you find a fairly large temple.

Grade : Easy / Moderate

Best Month : March, April, September, October and November.

Highlights : Great 360 degree’s view from the summit and opportunity to see a wide panaroma of peaks in Himachal.

Trekking Days : 2 to 3 depending on the route taken. A traverse of the peak is an interesting option if additional time is available.
