GHNP Traverse

Description : This is one of the most beautiful meadow walks in the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) region in Himachal Pradesh. The seven-day trek begins from the Tirthan valley. After a first day’s mild walk, you camp close to entrance of the Park. The forest is dense and pristine and has been transformed into a quiet and beautiful sanctuary because of the efforts by the government and locals. As a result and at various places, you have to cut your own trails. After a steady climb negotiating a thick forest corridor you reach one of most picturesque meadows surrounded by a forest of birch. The silence of these forested meadows is only broken by the calls of Himalayan monals. Once you leave the tree line, this trek offers hours of expansive meadows. One of the highpoints of this trek is to you get to camp at some of the most beautiful sites commanding stunning views. It is during this trek you may have a chance to see the endangered and the beautiful Himalayan Western Tragopan. As you are nearing completion in the Sainj Valley you have great views of a litany of snow capped peaks and ridgelines of the Jiwa valley at head of the Sainj Valley. This is truly a pretty traverse.
